The SMG meta in COD Mobile keeps changing, and honestly, half the guns people hype up are pure trash once you actually take them into real matches. So I decided to test every “top-tier” SMG myself and expose which ones actually melt lobbies, and which ones only impress on paper. If you want the guns that are the best in 2025, my list of top sub-machine guns cuts through the nonsense.
S-Tier – Meta-Defining / Top Guns
These are the SMGs that actually dominate the 2025 meta. These are the submachine guns with the raw speed, accuracy, and time-to-kill to shred entire lobbies without breaking a sweat. If you want guns that feel unfair in the right hands, this is where you start.
CBR4

The CBR4 remains one of the most reliable all-round SMGs in COD Mobile, combining elite mobility with tight recoil control and excellent close-to-mid-range performance. Even after multiple balance passes, it continues to beam enemies with almost no effort when properly built.

- Damage: 24 – 28
- Fire Rate: 80
- Mobility: Very High
- Effective Range: Short – Mid
- Recoil: Low / Easy to control
MAC-10
The MAC-10 is a pure close-range melt machine, boasting one of the fastest fire rates in the entire game and a TTK that deletes enemies before they can react. It’s chaotic and demands aggression, but nothing clears rooms faster in the right hands.
Stats (Approx.):
- Damage: 20 – 24
- Fire Rate: Extremely High
- Mobility: Very High
- Effective Range: Very Short
- Recoil: High without attachments
PPSh-41

Stats (Approx.):
- Damage: 25 – 29
- Fire Rate: High
- Mobility: High
- Effective Range: Short
- Recoil: Moderate (steady with attachments)
GKS
The GKS earns its S-Tier spot through accuracy and consistency rather than raw speed, making it deadly in mid-range gunfights where most SMGs struggle. Its laser-like recoil pattern rewards players with good aim far more than spray-and-pray competitors.

CBR4
The CBR4 was never truly demoted from its position as the game’s greatest gun because in spite of the fact that it has received nerfs in recent patches, it continues to be among the SMGs with the highest overall quality. It is the standard for standard service rifles and machine guns because of its low recoil and high fire rate.
It now takes longer to reload, and utilizing the YKM Light Stock provides less of a boost to movement speed than it did previously. This change was made in Season 2. Not nearly enough to make a significant dent in its enormous power.
Best CBR4 attachments:
- Muzzle: MIP Light Flash Guard.
- Barrel: MIP Extended Light Barrel.
- Laser: QWC Laser – Tactical.
- Stock: YKM Light Stock.
- Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape.
Stats:
- Damage: 24
- Fire Rate: 80
- Accuracy: 43
- Mobility: 94
- Range: 47
- Control: 42
Switchblade X9

Switchblade X9 SMGs are popular in COD Mobile for their agility and medium-range effectiveness. Fast fire rate for close-quarters warfare, lightweight build for mobility, and controllable recoil for precise aiming during intensive conflicts are its advantages. The Switchblade X9 can handle medium-range battles, but its close-range damage rating of 27 makes it a faster kill.
Its efficacy decreases with distance, and its moderate magazine size may require frequent reloads, leaving players susceptible to long engagements. Engaging beyond the mid-range can be difficult, thus fast approach methods are crucial to exploiting its potential.
Best Switchblade X9 attachments:
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor.
- Barrel: MIP Extended Light Barrel.
- Stock: YKM Light Stock.
- Laser: OWC Laser – Tactical.
- Ammunition: Extended Mag A.
Stats:
- Damage: 27
- Fire Rate: 85
- Accuracy: 48
- Mobility: 107
- Range: 42
- Control: 37
QQ9

In Season 5, the QQ9 is the third-best Submachine Gun to utilize. This rifle is very effective at close range and lends itself well to an aggressive playstyle. The QQ9 submachine gun is a fully automatic submachine gun that deals a tremendous number of damage and has an incredibly high fire rate, both of which contribute to a very fast time to kill.
Despite having a quick time to kill, the QQ9 also has substantial recoil, making it unsuitable for some players. However, most experienced players favor this gun because of the reward it offers.
Best QQ9 attachments:
- Muzzle: OWC Light Compensator.
- Barrel: RTC Recon Tac Long.
- Ammunition: 10mm 30 rounds.
- Laser: OWC Laser – Tactical.
- Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip.

The OTs 9 is a lightweight submachine gun that has high mobility, a high fire rate, and a quick fire rate.
It also deals good damage. Regarding range, this cannon has good range, which allowed it to land in the number four slot on the meta list. The OTs 9 likewise has a very rapid time to kill, but you will need to be more careful of the recoil control because the pistol also has pretty strong recoil control.
Best OTs 9 attachments:
- Muzzle: Agency Suppressor.

PPSh-41

In Season 7, the PPSh-41 is the fifth most effective Submachine Gun that players may utilize.
The PPSh-41 is a fully automatic submachine gun that deals good damage and has a good fire rate. This gun also has a high magazine capacity but low accuracy, making it suitable for gunfights at close range.
The PPSh-41 has respectable damage, and when combined with its respectable fire rate, it can generate a respectable amount of time to kill. It is a very good submachine gun overall, and it is suitable for both aggressive and passive gamers.

SMG in Multiplayer vs. Battle Royale

Submachine guns (SMGs) are a versatile weapon class offering unique advantages in both multiplayer and battle royale modes.
Multiplayer

In Multiplayer, SMGs are the best weapons for fighting close-ups. SMGs are made for fast-paced battles because they can fire quickly and move around easily. They do best on maps with tight corners, narrow halls, and intense firefights. With SMGs, aggressive players can rush their opponents, grab objectives, and keep control of the area. SMGs give you the edge you need in close fights, whether you’re winning in Team Deathmatch, capturing points in Domination, or keeping positions in Hardpoint.
Battle Royale

When it comes to Battle Royale, SMGs are still important, but they can be used in more ways. Early on in the game, SMGs are best used in urban places. Their quick-fire rates let you quickly kill enemies and get loot. As the match goes on and engagements move to different distances, SMGs can have trouble because they were made for close-range fighting. However, if you add attachments that improve precision and stability, you can use them at medium ranges. Also, as the play area gets smaller, SMGs become more useful again because they have the power needed for tight final fights.
Make your Choice
When choosing an SMG in Call of Duty: Mobile, think about how you play and where you are. In Multiplayer, SMGs are good for people who like to be bold and move quickly. In Battle Royale, they give you the tools you need to deal with the uncertain ups and downs of fights at different distances. Keep up with changes to weapon balance and meta shifts so you can change your approach to fit. SMGs are useful tools that you can use whether you’re enjoying the chaos of Multiplayer battles or trying to stay alive in Battle Royale. Make your choice.
Heatwave

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 is called “Heatwave,” conveying summer heat. New multiplayer maps, game modes, operator skills, weapons, and more are added this season. With better bullet impact physics and weapon balance, the update focuses on gameplay. Updates in ranked mode and Heatwave-themed components are coming. The new challenges and experiences this season expand the COD Mobile adventure with intriguing content and gameplay improvements.
As for the best SMG for this season, it’s important to check the most recent updates and changes because they can have a big effect on how well weapons work together. To find out which SMG is currently thought to be the best in Season 7 of COD Mobile, you might want to look at community talks, patch notes, and your own gameplay.
New SMG

In Season 7 of Call of Duty: Mobile, there is a new SMG called the “Striker 45.” This new gun has been added to the list of options, giving players a new way to fight at close and middle ranges. The Striker 45 SMG is part of Season 7’s new content, which also includes a new multiplayer map called “Seaside” and a new MP game called “Safeguard”.
Striker 45 Best Loadout

One popular loadout focuses on making the most of the Striker 45’s strengths, like making it better at close range while keeping it useful at medium range. Another way to do it is to make a strong setup that makes the Striker 45 a powerful weapon.
Attachments that improve gun control, damage range, and ADS speed are important ones to think about. Depending on how you play, you might prefer a different loadout, but playing around with attachments like the right barrel, stock, and magazine can make the Striker 45 better in both Multiplayer and Battle Royale games.
Keep in mind that Striker 45 loadouts can change when the meta changes, so it’s important to know about the latest changes to how weapons are balanced. Use tips from the community, Gunsmith breakdowns, and your own testing to make a loadout for the best SMG in COD Mobile that fits your chosen strategy.
