The Blackwing is an important monster in the Monster Hunting cycle. He has two serious pieces of army gears and he’s also a super easy hero to kill! With the roll-out of the Hootclaw Monster, the Blackwings aren’t the best gear any longer, but they are still my most recommended in their class. Keep reading to see what I mean…

About the Blackwing
The Blackwing looks like a weird grumpy snake x 2. It is defeated by a Monster Hunting ATK Lineup Team. Do NOT use a Magical Attack lineup against him. You’ll be wasting your time!
IGG decided, in their wonderful wisdom, to provide us with a bunch of random stuff about the Blackwing. I’m not going to repeat their information, because, frankly, it’s straight-up stupid!
Blackwing Hero Lineup
The Blackwing is a very VERY easy hero. So long as you use attack heroes, you should be able take it down. I’m able to easily kill a Level 3 in one shot.
Free to Play Blackwing Lineup
The standard F2P lineup for the Blackwing is: Trickster, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Tracker and Black Crow.
Here is the breakdown based on level.
Level 1 Blackwing F2P Hero Lineup: Trickster, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Tracker and Black Crow.
Level 2 Blackwing F2P Hero Lineup: Trickster, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Tracker and Black Crow.
Level 3 Blackwing F2P Hero Lineup: Trickster, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Tracker and Black Crow.
Level 4 Blackwing F2P Hero Lineup: Trickster, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Tracker and Black Crow.
Level 5 Blackwing F2P Hero Lineup: Trickster, Death Knight, Demon Slayer, Prima Donna and Black Crow.
Pay to Play Blackwing Lineup
The Pay to Play (P2P) lineup for the Blackwing is very similar to the Free to Play aside for removing Trickster and replacing him with Femme Fatale. She’s really good! I recommend watching the playback and watching her in action.
The standard F2P lineup for the Blackwing is: Tracker, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Femme Fatale and Black Crow.
Level 1 Blackwing P2P Hero Lineup: Tracker, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Femme Fatale and Black Crow.
Level 2 Blackwing P2P Hero Lineup: Tracker, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Femme Fatale and Black Crow.
Level 3 Blackwing P2P Hero Lineup: Tracker, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Femme Fatale and Black Crow.
Level 4 Blackwing P2P Hero Lineup: Tracker, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Femme Fatale and Black Crow.
Level 5 Blackwing P2P Hero Lineup: (Serious P2P Heroes) Femme Fatale, Demon Slayer, Lore Weaver, Ethereal Guide, and Black Crow.
Gear from Blackwing
The Blackwing, as mentioned above, has some serious gear associated with it! If you’re Cavalry, Range or Infantry you’re going to want to get the gear.
Here are the four gear sets that you can make from the Blackwing:
- Dragon’s Talon (Legs). Amazing. At Mythic this amazing gear will give you an Infantry ATK boost of 28%, Ranged ATK boost of 42% and a Army Max HP boost of 21%.
- Dragon’s Iris (Accessory). Waste of time. At Mythic Gear, this gear will provide a Cavalry ATK 14%, Ranged ARK boost of 14% and an Army Max HP boost of 14%.
- Dragon’s Fist (Off-hand). Amazing. At Mythic the Dragon’s Fist will give you a 30% Cavalry ATK boost and a Army Max HP Boost of 28%. This is an amazing piece of gear!
- Dragon’s Bite (Main Hand). Complete waste of time. Infantry ATK of 14% and Army Max HP of 14%.
This doesn’t need to be said, but obviously only focus on the Fist and the Talon and don’t waste any material on the other two pieces of gear!
Blackwing vs Hootclaw
With the release of the controversial Hootclaw Monster (see video), the power of the Blackwing has been GREATLY diminished. If you’re a serious player (with a bit of extra cash as well), you will probably want to focus on the Hootclaw. Everyone else will want to continue going for the Blackclaw.
The Hootclaw is A LOT harder to max!!!
Here’s a side by side comparison of the two big updated gears.
Lunar Boomerang vs. Dragon’s Fist: The Lunar Boomerang has a 12% more powerful boost for CAV ATK at Mythic but a 7% less Cav HP. The Lunar Boomerang also has a 21% Cavalry DEF boost. All in all, the Lunar Boomerang is much better!
Blackwing Rewards
The Blackwing has the regular rewards, but the drop rate for the Blackwing is AWESOME. You have a 10% chance of getting the rare material! That’s unbelievably high!

Blackwing Packs
As you already know, I’m not the biggest fan of the $5 Monster Packs. The Material Maddness is MUCH better value.
That being said, if you do happen to buy the Blackwing pack you will at least have a very strong chance of getting the rare materials. The drop rate of 10% mates the 80 chests that you’ll get very good.
Again, the Material Madness is lot better value.
Final Thoughts on the Blackwing
The Blackwing is a solid monster. It is super annoying that Lords Mobile released the Hootclaw that gives a better gear for Cavalry, but such is life.
The truth still is that the Dragon’s Fist is STILL the BEST gear for Cavalry unless you have the ability to max the Hootclaw. Most of us don’t have that ability.
So keep attacking the Blackwing. He’s easy to kill and get both of his solid gears to Mythic!
